Girls on the Run North Bay

Girls on the Run North Bay is a local non-profit that employers girls and is part of the national Girls on the Run movement. Young girls (ages 8 to 13), particularly those from under-resourced communities, foster their social, emotional and physical wellness in an inclusive, diverse and welcoming space. There is still a need to offer an after-school, for girls-only (youth who identify as girls) mental and physical health program. Stressors related to societal pressures, the pandemic and continued gender stereotypes are negatively impacting girls. Our program helps girls build their confidence and resilience at a critical time when society begins to tell them they can’t. We were also selected by the Harvard School of Education as one of the top Social and Emotional learning programs in 2021.
This Fall our aim is to impact 800 participants in 56 groups throughout Napa, Solano and Sonoma Counties. We will need to recruit over 112 volunteers.
