Grapes of Rock Half Marathon Come and volunteer for this exciting event on Saturday, June 8, 2013 benefiting The Salvation Army. The Hot Air Balloon Classic needs volunteers to participate in the activities during the event, June 15th -16th and for Media day, June 14th at Keiser Park in Windsor. Disability Services & Legal Center is looking for Volunteers to help at their annual fundraiser "Music in the Vines" at the Paradise Ridge Winery on June 20th 6-10pm. The Redwood Empire Food Bank's Summer Lunch Program serves over 105,000 meals to children throughout Sonoma County. Volunteers are needed Monday -Friday, June 3rd -August 9th, at various locations, (from approximately 11:30a.m. -1:30 p.m.) 18 & over please. Able to commit to one day a week. Videographer and Outreach Help Needed
BrightHaven & Sadie's Haven are looking for volunteers who love animals of all kinds. Video experience preferred. We need multiple videos! Dogs- cats - horses. Volunteers needed at NAMI Sonoma County
Interested in mental health? Warm line volunteers will receive training and supervision for a six-month commitment of at least one weekly, four-hour, telephone shift. Volunteers may work at our office or at home if a phone and home computer is available, call 527-6655.
Volunteer Assistant to Development Director
Assist with Sonoma Ecology Center's annual fundraising and membership programs. Duties include gift processing, data entry, gift acknowledgement, event assistance, and providing excellent customer care and support to our members. Event Volunteers
La Luz Center is a non-profit organization whose mission is to empower its community through education, leadership, and self-advocacy. Event volunteers will assist before, during, and after the events with a variety of tasks including set-up, clean-up, greeting, parking, and much more. Our events include community gatherings, potluck dinners, fundraising events, and other holiday-related events. Each event is unique and offers different opportunities for our volunteers. Depending on the event, there may be a requirement for heavy lifting of tables, chairs, or decorative items, or standing for several hours at a time. However, requirements vary and accommodations can be made.
Coaches Needed
Girls on the Run Sonoma County is looking for volunteer coaches for our fall 2013 program. Our coaches are a dynamic group of enthusiastic, passionate women willing to share three hours per week with a small team of girls. You don't have to be a "runner" to be a coach! Bilingual Support with Clinic
Bilingual Volunteers Needed for Santa Rosa Community Health Centers to help patients who are not able to fill out paperwork in the clinic waiting room. Fluency in Spanish and English required. Volunteers needed M-F 8-5 PM, split shifts possible. We are looking for a minimum 2 month commitment. Bilingual Volunteer Needed
Catholic Charities' citizenship tutoring program is in need of a bilingual teenager to assist with verbal translation of instructions for our mainly Spanish speaking clients. This opportunity is every Wednesday from 5pm to 5:30pm in downtown Santa Rosa. This is a great way to gain experience translating while giving back to your community. Be a Part of the County Fair!
Are you interested in sustainability and 'green' issues affecting our planet? The Energy & Sustainability Division of General Services is seeking fun, energetic, creative individuals to assist with hosting events at the Sonoma County Fair this summer. These Greentivities volunteers will provide the community with ways to recycle, reduce, conserve, and live more sustainably. Some of the crafts/activities include a 'Trashin' Fashion Show', sustainable science fair, and cooking demonstrations using local foods. Help with A Horse Sanctuary
Sadie's Haven is an all volunteer organization who welcomes any and all volunteers. Here's how you can help the horses in need. Meet with Vicki (our President and Founder) at our Sanctuary and help with: grooming, picking hooves, feeding, walking, cleaning/filling water troughs, cleaning paddocks & pasture areas, bathing and events. Volunteer with YMCA!
Become a tutor, or help with equipment as a volunteer with YMCA. Work with youth or help with the exercise equipment. Minimum age is 16, and must make commitment of 1 day/1 hour per month. Contact Heather for more info at 545-9622x3321.
Golden Living at Petaluma needs you!
Volunteers needed for:
* Candy Striper: friendly visiting to clients and assist staff. Volunteers can be age 13 years and older.
* Garden with resident or small groups: Golden Living has several large patios and many waist- high accessible plant boxes.
* Entertain by sharing your talent in music, art, etc., with a resident or with a small group
* Pet visits: animal must have current vaccine record
We are a 99 bed, post acute, short term and long term facility with a broad range of patients who would love to interact more with the community.

Help Run a Food Drive
Teens (14+) needed for Food For Thought's Saturday food drives. Responsibilities include collecting food and cash donations in front of designated markets all over Sonoma County. On-site training provided, support available, you will be given fliers and buckets. Staff coordinates pickups. Time commitment is 2 1/2 hours on a Saturday with 3 shifts per day. Brighthaven Animal Sanctuary and Rescue
