SPEAK UP: Presentation Skills for Nonprofits' Rising Stars!

Being good at your job is great, but can you present and defend your work?
If you want to further your cause and move hearts and minds, it's never too early to learn advanced presentation skills.

As we rise in our careers we are increasingly called on to step up - to speak up for our ideas.  We must represent the agency well with partners, volunteers or donors.  We must pitch ideas to our Leadership.  Contrary to the word on the street, public speaking is a skill that can be learned.  Join former TV newscaster, communications consultant and Improv pro Marianne Fleischer for a lively 3-hour workshop.

You will leave with less performance anxiety.
You will walk out better able to hold your own in the spotlight,
Most importantly, you will gain respect and impact as a mover of ideas at work and out in the world.

Attendees:  High potential go-getters from general nonprofit population.

Marianne Fleischer is a speechwriter, TV producer and executive speech coach. In short, she helps companies tell their stories better. Clients include Sonoma County Farm Trails, Gravenstein Apple Fair 2013, San Francisco School Volunteers, Jewish Community Center of San Francisco, Apple Computer, HP, Sony, Schwab, PBS-TV, Esquire Magazine, Kaiser, Wells Fargo, Solana Gold Organics—to name a few.

Marianne started as an academic, teaching public speaking at University of Massachusetts. Next she was a TV newscaster, talk show and documentary producer for TV stations in the Midwest and San Francisco at KRON-TV, KPIX-TV and KQED-TV.   Talk about keeping cool under fire:

      •  As a newscaster, she was caught in a tornado and had to AD LIB for hours on the air.
      •  Once when an emcee walked off the stage, she had to “wing it” as emcee --to a room of 1000 non-profit and corporate executives for 2 hours.

…And she has been coaching others to think on their feet for years. Organizations hire Marianne as a communications strategist, event creative director or to groom their “stars’ through PRIVATE speech coaching or “Keeping Cool under Fire” workshops.
