January's Volunteer of the Month
Michael Quinn has been volunteering at Kid Street Learning Center for the last four years. During this time he has helped many students navigate the difficult world of mathematics all the while making it fun and engaging. It has been Kid Street’s privilege to have him as part of the school and the students are grateful for his time, dedication and overall care for each of them.
Former student, Chayton Martinez, had the opportunity to work with Michael for two years and recalls Michael telling him that, "using math is like playing a game of chess, you must first understand your opponent and recognize his move, then you will find the answer." Chayton is now a sophomore in high school, and still considers math fun and finding answers easier.
Another former student, Selena Amante, shares, "Michael was such a great math tutor. He helped me understand what I was doing in math even when I was not yet at the right level. He helped me advance, and now, being in high school, math has become second nature."
"Michael, thank you for all that you do for our school. We love and appreciate you." - Kid Street Nominate Someone Online Today!
